Obviously I don’t update this often enough!…

Thursday, July 31st, 2008

So, as usual, it’s been months since my last update on this site!!…I need to get on here more often, but to do that, I need to get some new pics…

I realized I did have a few pics from Dan’s AFL win (by armbar in less than a minute in the 1st round) in Atlanta a while ago that I wanted to put up…

Several of the pics are from www.georgiamma.com as well…

And the KITSURA shirts you see us wearing in the pics are going to be available soon as part of a full clothing line…

Check out www.kitsura.com for those…

So, since it’s been a while, I thought I’d put some more current training pics up…I’m still going at it full-time under Dan’s auspices and I’ll be back in the cage before too long…I’ll be doing some boxing, submission wrestling, and kickboxing matches prior to that for some more experience, though…

DAN CHRISTISON (10-6) VS. JOHN LEBLANC (1-7)

ROUND 1 — The big men throw some haymakers early before Christison pins his opponent against the cage. LeBlanc tosses Christison to the mat and connects on some punches as he gets back to his feet. Christison then unloads some leg kicks that wobble LeBlanc. The two men now stand and trade, and LeBlanc takes exception to his opponent’s leg kicks. Christison answers with a couple jabs and a few belly shots. They clinch again against the fence, and Christison works knees to the body and when LeBlanc creates some distance, they trade some more haymakers. As the round comes to a close, Christison scores the single-leg takedown and rains down some elbows before the bell sounds.

ROUND 2 — LeBlanc lands a body kick early, and then he trades leg kicks with Christison. Christison swarms in for the single-leg takedown, rattling the cage as he lands in half guard. Christison works to side mount and works some ground and pound and then elbows to the midsection. Christison then moves into full mount and rains down punch after punch. LeBlanc tries to roll to give up his back, and but Christison continues the assault, and the ref has seen enough.

Dan Christison def. John LeBlanc via TKO (strikes) — Round 2.

Long time no see…

Well, it’s been forever since I’ve been able to update the site…

A good place to start back again is by listing all the damn vitamins/supps. that I’m taking currently…

So, here’s the breakdown of daily consumption with no particular order given…

3 scoops of Randy Couture’s LightForce Greens daily…

500mg of Acai…

Glucosamine/Chondroitin/Hyaluronic Acid/MSM (1500/300/120)…

Alpha-Lipoic Acid 400 mg…

Acetyl-L-Carnitine 500 mg…

Fish Oil (DHA, EPA, Omega-3) 6000 mg…

NOW Foods ADAM Men’s Multi-Vitamin X 2 daily…

Calcium/Magnesium/Zinc (1000/400/25)…

CoQ-10 100mg…

Zinc 50mg…

Slow-Mag. (Mg. Chloride) X 2 daily…

Liver-Aide 3-9 tabs per day…

Fiber Choice with Calcium 2-4 tabs per day…

Emergen-C 3-6 packs (3000 to 6000 mg. Vitamin C) daily with 1 L of water per dose…

I also try to get 1-2 tsps. of Flax Seed Oil daily, but that’s something I need to work on more often…

The other supplement I really recommend is niacin and to follow the guidelines on www.thehealthyheart.net that Robert Kowalski has had incredible success with…

I personally think that athletes, especially fighters, need to evaluate their cholesterol levels and act accordingly…

As a disclaimer, NONE of the above should be considered medical advice…I’m solely a pharmacist, NOT a medical doctor…What I’ve listed above is just an example of my own daily intake…

My first fight w/Kyle Kingsbury…

Sunday, April 8th, 2007

I couldn’t have asked for a BIGGER first fight in MMA…

You won’t be able to  find the fight on YouTube since it’s been pulled: Aric Dylan vs. Kyle Kingsbury

Kyle was 3-0 when I fought him and has a big following in Phoenix, being that he played football for ASU…

Fellas, if you’re ever in a cage fight w/Kyle, enjoy those Turbo Knees he feeds you because Good Lord, they will change your ribcage for an extended period of time!!…..Damn…

He gave me a nice ‘lil prop by saying he didn’t expect me to be that composed in the fight…LOL…

Check him out at: www.kylekingsbury.com

They must have liked Kyle mucho when he fought and won recently in KOTC, check him out on the poster for the upcoming fights in Globe, AZ, where I lived for quite a while…

Fresh site…

Monday, April 2nd, 2007

So, I finally have a website…I’m not sure that this website will be ENTIRELY about MMA…Where to start??…

Yeah, I know now…

Many a person has asked me, “what makes a pharmacist want to be a fighter?”…This is a reasonable question, as most ppl consider pharmacists to be a fairly benevolent breed, complete with horn-rimmed glasses and a bowtie…

And professionally, there exists a sort of raised eyebrow look that accompanies the thought of a ‘respectable’ medical professional hopping in a cage and fighting another man…

More on this thought later…
